Ingredients :
1½ bowl uncooked rice
1½ bowl tuvar dal
6 bowl water
2 bowlof vegetables (potatoes,pumpkin,radish, brinjals and beans)
1 lemon size ball of tamrind
1 tbspoon oil
1 tspoon mustard seeds
6 tbspoons ghee
salt to taste
for masala
2 tbspoon chana dal(bengal gram)
2 tbspoon split black gram(urad dal)
3 tbspoon coriander seeds
3 tbspoons grated coconut
4 dry red chillies
2" cinnamon stick
6 curry leaves
½ turmeric powder
1 pinch hing
Method :

Method :
- Roast the nine ingredients of the masala in a little oil.
- Cool and then dry grind. Keep aside.
- Soak the tamarind ball in the hot water and extract the juice.
- Boil the water in a big pan add the tuvar dal to it and cook till it is half-done.
- Now, add the rice, the spice mix powder, chopped mixed vegetables and salt.
- Keep on low flame for about 10 minutes.
- Now add tamarind paste.
- Heat the oil in a pan.reduce flame.
- Add the mustard seeds when it crecked.add curry leave fry it for few secend
- Pour this over the rice mixture.
- Add the ghee to this mixture. Allow to simmer on a low flame
- Stir continuously for 15 minutes till the rice is fully cooked and all the ghee is used up.
- Garnish with coriander leaves before serving.
